5”x8” original mixed media painting framed to 11”x14”

I painted this series in the darker months of winter. I wanted to have the works feel in tune with nature at that time of year – more neutral colors, the stark shape of branches against the pale blue sky, and the quiet that comes with a snowfall.

Can you spot the fabric in this piece? How about the stained teabag that I've dried, ripped, and collaged into the painting? As I created these small works, I pulled in bits of things that felt like winter to me - a warm steaming mug of tea, fabric that I've either hand-stitched or dyed, and more neutrals with just a pop of color - like a holly berry in the snow.

These small paintings are created on vintage book covers and are mounted on 11x14 inch wood panels that have a light wood frame. The panels have been painted in warm white and the frame has been rubbed with wax to finish it and make it smooth. Please note that there is no glass. The artwork is mounted directly onto the panel.

It’s ready for you to hang on your wall. It has a sawtooth hanger and small clear bumpers on the back to keep it from moving around once you have hung it.
