When I was in elementary school there was a boy that was just mean to me. Let's just call him "Jay." Jay liked to win at everything and we played a lot of team games. I'll be the first to admit that I was not at all athletically inclined and whenever I was on Jay's team, we just seemed to lose. Oops!

Anyway, when we lost, Jay's temper would flare and he'd start a fight with me. After several of these altercations, the teacher had had it. She decided to take matters into her own hands.

We were pulled inside and told to "go sit and hold hands on the Davenport." What the heck was a Davenport? We had no idea, so after she angrily explained that it was a couch, we were stuck there for the rest of recess holding hands in our classroom book nook, seated on the davenport.

The end of the story does not have us falling in love or anything sweet. He had sweaty hands and I really detested him which did not improve after our davenport experience.
